I believe that Barack Obama is a political visionary, and that his presence in the White House would be a necessary ‘breath of fresh air.’

I think that the time has come to end the ongoing ‘legacy crisis’ in the executive branch of government. Moreover, I am unconvinced that lengthy political careers lead to much more than the development of ‘political party mouthpieces.’

...does anyone else out there like the idea of an Obama/Edwards ticket?

Compassionist is a true humanitarian. Even as he confronts his own challenges with bipolar disorder, he offers support and encouragement for others in adverse circumstances. Moreover, he confers comfort and wisdom without being ‘preachy’ in any sense of the word.

I feel fortunate that people like Compassionist exist in this world, and I hope that me and my husband will have a chance to meet him and his family one day.

A story about my username, actually.

‘Sonarbangla’ is a condensation of two words from the Bangla language – sonar and bangla. Sonar (pronounced shonar) translates to ‘golden,’ and ‘Bangla’ can translate to ‘Bengal.’ Rabindranath Tagore composed a song entitled ‘Amar Sonar Bangla,’ which extolled the beauty of the Bangladeshi countryside.

I have chosen this name in homage to the beautiful nation of Bangladesh, which I hope to have the opportunity to revisit someday.

I live on a big forested lot in Minnesota with my wonderfully supportive husband who is from half a world away. Our land is reflective of our overall lifestyle – earthy, tranquil, yet ever-changing.

I love Minnesota, as well as the rest of the Earth and space and spaceTIME. One of my favorite subjects to reflect upon – with whomever has a spare moment to do so – is LIFE. Life, not so much as a biological process (although I am a student of BioScience), but rather, the origin of ANY life in this universe – or in the multiverse at large.

My #1 question is: “what is beyond the cosmic background radiation?”

I feel obliged to experience as much of our fragile planet as possible. My first sojourn overseas was to Bangladesh. I traveled there twice – at ages 19 and 22 – and I can honestly say that those journeys were personality-altering experiences. I will suffice it to say that it is a nation that should be experienced first-hand.

I love nature and life in all its forms. I have loved every place that I have been fortunate enough to visit. I have a strong appreciation for individual differences, which stems chiefly from education in biochemistry and working as a volunteer in adult basic education.

I take pride in my interpersonal communication skills.

I am an unfortunate sucker for novelty items, museums, wineries, and factory tours. I love crocheting afghans to give away as holiday presents.

I love working hard and having a [one or two!] cold beer(s) on Friday afternoon, as I come from a strong lineage of blue-collar workers. I worked for 10 years (medical implants) before attempting my bachelors degree. It has been very challenging, because I feel that ‘something is missing,’ – aside from my income!

I am an advocate for homeless rabbits.

Most of all, I try to contribute to my own and others’ happiness by being a good wife and friendly (not obnoxious) spirit, and providing assistance whenever I am able.
